On Wednesday 20th February we were delighted to welcome to our training facility MLS Academy New England Revolution. Once again this was going to be a tough test for Jack Wilshere’s Elites teams however exactly the kind of fixture they will help with our preparation for Gothia 19. NE Revolution had travelled across the pond with four teams 11,12,13,& 14s and had embarked on a weeks training & match programme. As well as competing against the Elites they were also playing against QRR Academy & Southhampton Academy.

Nick Cook said ‘We have built up a great relationship with Esselle Sports over the years and this has provided us with some great fixtures against American teams. New England were a very strong outfit in all age groups. We were really pleased with how our boys competed, particularly when you consider we are only taking our first steps together as teams. NE Revolution train 8 hours a week and have been together 4 + years. Overall very pleasing day’s football. Congratulations to the U12s who won their game 8 v 4’.

Special mention to Charlie B who got a great hat trick with a couple of very good finishes. Olly R who we hear was mesmerising in the 11s match. Hamsa who has recently returned from a long lay off but putting in a very powerful performance. Will R for some outstanding work between the sticks. Cavell A who was a real handful up front in his match giving everything for the cause.
