Friday 22nd March saw an action packed evening of football and opportunities for our Elites footballers in Enfield. 56 Elites players had the watchful eyes of new NCF Elites Director Jack Wilshere and former Arsenal, Chelsea and England defender Ashley Cole. This was all topped off by the visit of SKY Sports news.
Ashley had caught a train down from Derby to be with us on the night. Ashley took the time to move from group to group watching the Elites boys undergo their training sessions in preparation for their tour in July to the Gothia Youth World Cup. Ashley spoke with a few of the boys individually and picked out Kane as he felt he looked a particularly bright player.
Ashley said to Elites director Nick Cook on Kane ‘ I like the look of this young lad, very bright, technically good and shows good match awareness. Once he fills out he could turn in to a top little player’.

Ashley was very impressed with the 10/11s, who were being put through their paces by Foday.
He said ‘This group has an abundance of pace & technical ability’.

Elites director Jack said ‘Its great to see all the boys in action and giving 100%, there is a real buzz and energy about the Elites’.

An action packed evening finished off with more SKY Sports interviews and a Q & A with Ashley.
Can we take this opportunity to thank Ashley and SKY Sports for their time in visiting us at the Enfield Elites Centre.
