Last night saw the first match for our Elites U18s v Enfield Mens team. The boys have been working extremely hard in training however you are never quite sure how it will all come together in a match format.

U18s Coach Terry said ‘I was delighted with the team performance, our retention of the ball was outstanding and we scored a couple of great team goals. Very pleasing was the hunger the team showed in winning the ball back, our shape was solid.’

In typical Elites fashion, the whistle blew and the boys began moving the ball in real confident fashion. Goalkeeper Gabriel constantly instructing the boys about their shape and always being an option to play back to. It wasn’t long before the Elites boys took the lead,midfield maestro Dimi broke the deadlock with a cool, calm finish.

Dimi went onto claim a first half hat trick and a very complete performance in central midfield. Elites ran out 7 v 3 winners with further goals from Carlo 2, Ritchie1 & Gabriel 1. U18s Head coach Terry Foskett said ‘I was pleased with the overall performance of the team. We were calm in possession, showing some good movement in the final third, culminating in some good team goals.

Defensively our shape was generally good & compact. At times as to be expected with a new group we lost that shape and paid the price by conceding. However great start, a lot to work on in preparation for our European tour next Year’.

Special mention for 15 year old Remi who was called up for the U18s and put in a very strong performance.
