Last night’s match reports.

Last night’s match reports.

Last night saw two Elites team in action and both did not disappoint.

Letchworth report

Playing at home at the Hertfordshire Football headquarters in Letchworth our Elites 08’s put on a scintillating performance to beat Stevenage Boro. The team really showing how far they have come in a short space of time. A high tempo, high press performance saw the Letchworth boys produce some outstanding football that was a pleasure to watch. From the first whistle the team came flying out the blocks and began to string their passes together and produced some real exciting combination play that Stevenage struggled to contain. It was really good to see the confidence flowing through the team and great credit to the boys for scoring some well created team goals but also a couple of great individual moments.

Elite coach Fabio said ‘We were very happy with the ability of the players to take in key information and how effective they were applying it throughout the match. A very strong performance’.

A big well done to Stevenage, despite the scoreline, they continued to play with great character and passion.

Enfield Report

The Enfield Elites 15s travelled to Heron Hall Academy, the home of our girls centre. The team were to compete against AEK U18s, in what would be a physical test for the squad. An 18 man Elite squad arrived and the signs looked good during the warm up. However, not sure any of us expected the complete performance that was witnessed. The team looked sharp from the off. They had been instructed to play a high press game and thats exactly what they did. The boys looked strong and dynamic and played with a real assurance and confidence in each other. It was fantastic to watch.

Elite coach Terry Foskett

Manager Terry said afterwards ‘This is credit to the players and shows they have taken the information on board at training. Our recovery of possession was exceptional. Our ability then to relax in possession but be aggressive and break the lines was great to see’.

A special mention must go to Cameron, 13 years of age, playing in central midfield and took charge. He capped it off by scoring two well taken goals.

On the 14th November the team travel to Arsenal Academy at Hale End to compete against the Arsenal Juniors.

A big thank you to AEK, a smashing group of young football players. Thank you to all involved.
