A massive thank you to Sophie and Georgia for attending the NCFElites girls training on Tuesday the 4th of June, always great to have two former professionals down helping the development of our young girls football skills. We hope to see them down again soon.
Here is a little testimony from Sophie Hull:
Football was never my first sport as a teenager I played Rounders for England and Cricket for Warwickshire County. However after starting my teacher training I joined my local football club to make friends and increase my fitness. After winning Managers Player and Players Player for Solihull Ladies, I successfully trialled for West Bromwich Albion.
At WBA I played primarily as a centre-back. In my first season I won the Birmingham County Cup and was awarded Managers Player of the Year. After committing myself to the club for a second season, I was named Club Captain and made 49 appearances before moving to St Albans Ladies. My game has now adapted to give me more freedom playing as a central-midfielder.
Here is a little testimony from Georgia Knight:
I’ve been playing football ever since I was able to walk I’d be kicking a ball around the house and wouldn’t let a ball out of sight.
I started my football career as a striker at the age of 8 for Watford centre of excellence, where I was scouted by Arsenal at a summer camp in goal where I then spent 5 seasons with Arsenal, due to an injury and being unable to play for a long period of time, I decided to take a break from football.
Whilst injured I spent alot of the time in the gym and from the passion I built a career as a personal trainer, which I am still doing now.
I then returned to football a few years later and signed for Stevenage, before signing for my current club St Albans Ladies.
We look forward to seeing both Sophie and Georgia again
