On Friday the 14th June the Enfield Elites U10s travelled to the home of the newly formed Letchworth U10s Elites who were competing in their first fixture since coming together.
As expected this was always going to be a tough match for the Letchworth boys as Enfield have been together for 8 months. The key message to both teams was to build from the back, impose themselves and to play without fear of making a mistake. Enfield have that team understanding and moved the ball at times with real quality that was causing the Letchworth boys problems. Young Zane in goal was being kept busy but certainly standing up to the challenge. However this certainly was not one way traffic as the Letchworth Elites grew in to the game with young Blake always looking a handful on the ball. Enfield Elites keeper Mario having to pull off a couple of good saves to keep out the growing Letchworth Elites.
There were some very strong individual performances, Thomas for Enfield was pulling the strings in midfield and Louie’s pace out wide was a constant threat.
Man of the match for Letchworth was given to Endrit who was technically excellent on the ball and covered every blade of grass.
Man of the match for Enfield was given to Thomas, a commanding display in defence and midfield.
Well done to all boys on a great footballing show.
